A number of prominent Chinese couples have divorced or separated in the past, including actors Wang Baoqiang and Ma Rong, and online gaming company owner Zhou Yahui and Li Qiong.
In December, Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai and her boyfriend of six years, model Vivian Dawson, were added to the list. The news shocked their fans who were expecting the two to marry. Straits Times reported that their separation was amicable.
Zero Chance
The chances of the two reconciling is almost zero, Jolin Tsai said at the 60th anniversary event of Shiseido, a beauty brand. She was asked if she plans to reunite with Vivian Dawson. The singer tried to evade the question by replying, “I think it’s better to not comment on this matter, as it’d make headlines regardless of my replies,” Toggle reported.
Since the couple separated in December, it appears they have not seen each other since Jolin Tsai’s answer to a reporter’s question was that she never got back with her former boyfriend. In early December, before their split, Vivian Dawson – who met Jolin Tsai in 2010 while they were working together on a music video – said in an interview with Apple Daily that if he would marry, he wanted joint marital asset.
Wear Wedding Ring Daily
In addition, Vivian Dawson – who gained fame for his starring role in the 2014 film “Tiny Times 3” – also wanted his future wife to use his surname and always wear her wedding ring. Apple noted that the actor’s conditions could likely be rejected by Jolin Tsai who is rich and career minded. But the actor’s agent eventually clarified that Vivian Dawson actually meant separate ownership of assets after marriage. The agent said that the actor had some problems expressing his thoughts in Chinese language.
