The season 6 of "Community" just premiered on Yahoo Screen and two episodes were released.
The ensemble comedy series was picked up by Yahoo just a month after it got cancelled by NBC. The web giant planned 13 episodes for the sixth season of series.
The show's production began in November in Los Angeles. However, some of the original cast already left, including Greendale's Shirley Bennett (Yvette Nicole Brown), and Pierce Hawthorne (Chevy Chase), who left earlier in Season 4.
In December 2014, Chase claimed that he would be back to reprise his role in the sixth season of the show. However, there was no confirmation from the showrunners or producers whether his claim was true. The show's sci-fi-like direction may easily transition Chase's return from the dead.
Fan favorites such as Abed Nadir (Danny Pudi), Annie Edison (Alison Brie) Jeff Winger (Joel McHale), Britta Perry (Gillian Jacobs) and Ben "Kevin" Chang (Ken Jeong) reprised their roles in their study group at Greendale Community College. Jim Rash (Dean Pelton) is also back.
Meanwhile, Deadline reported that Paget Brewster from "Criminal Minds" and Keith David from "Enlisted" recently joined the cast of the comedy show.
The creator of the series, Dan Harmon, is now one of the show's executive producer, according to Broadway World. Other executive producers include Patrick Kienlen, Chris McKenna, Gary Foster and Russ Krasnoff. While, Tristram Shapeero from "Nurse Jackie" directs the show and is also an executive producer.
