K-pop girls' group BLACKPINK has joined forces with global icons and international celebrities to urge people to come together and save planet Earth.

The South-Korean pop group appears in the trailer for YouTube's upcoming original special "Dear Earth". The event is described as an epic global celebration of Earth and what is the need of the hour to reverse climate change.

The official YouTube announcement for the event said Celebrate Mother Earth and described the planet as the only known entity to actually birth the human race. The video hosting company also added that with this special, YouTube will highlight how to solve climate problems.

The special brings together iconic creators, performers, and climate activists. Barack Obama, Jaden Smith, and Billie Eilish can be seen in the short trailer, spanning 1.39 minutes, which was released on October 18.

BLACKPINK, the only K-pop artist to be part of Dear Earth, will feature as special speakers in the campaign. The superstars will use their massive influence for good and deliver a message revolving around improving awareness of climate change to fans worldwide. They will also put up a spectacular performance.

At the 0:24 seconds mark in the newly released trailer, BLACKPINK's Rosé can be seen speaking out about the issue of climate change. The K-pop singer says that our generation must come together and we must work towards saving our planet.

All the four members of BLACKPINK can be seen later in the trailer at the 1:05 seconds mark, which gives a hint of their performance during the "Dear Earth" special. BLACKPINK's fans, known as Blinks, are already excited about their idol's performance.

YouTube will be premiering Dear Earth on Saturday, October 23 at 2 PM PT/5 PM ET, and in Southeast Asia on Sunday, October 24 at 5 AM PHT/SGT.

Earlier this year, the band was also appointed as the UN's Climate Change Conference (COP26) advocates.
