BIGBANG's Taeyang welcomed his first child with his wife, actress Min Hyo-Rin, on December 6. The news was confirmed by the singer's agency, YG Entertainment.
The entertainment company released a statement that said Taeyang's wife Min Hyo Rin recently gave birth to a healthy son. The agency has not disclosed much else at the moment as the new parents have wanted to remain quiet from the beginning.
The news of the pregnancy first surfaced in September this year. It was confirmed by a spokesperson from the actress's agency, who said that it was true that Min Hyo Rin was expecting and waiting joyfully.
At that point itself, the spokesperson had notified that the actress hoped to give birth quietly and asked fans for their understanding in not being able to respond to further questions.
The focus of the South Korean actress at the moment is on her motherhood and going through postpartum care. Meanwhile, Taeyang is gearing up for an upcoming album with bandmates.
The two embarked on a relationship after first meeting on the set's of the singer's music video 1AM in 2014. The couple has been together for seven years.
The two solemnized their vows in a private ceremony at a church in Seoul's Gyeonggi in 2018. Actor Ki Tae-Young officiated the wedding. The guests at the wedding included ex BIGBANG bandmates Daesung and Seungri, singers Psy and SE7EN, and members CL and Sandara Park.
A reception followed the wedding at a resort called Paradise City in Incheon, South Korea. Designer Oscar De La Renta made a customized dress for the bride. Just a month after the wedding, Taeyang began his compulsory military service, getting discharged in November 2019.
The duo has kept a low public profile since they got married. Min's last movie release was in 2019, with the biographical film "Race To Freedom: Um Bok Dong". While, Taeyang had a solo music release last in 2017, while BIGBANG's last release as a group was the single "Flower Road" in 2018.
Taeyang, whose actual name is Dong Young-bae, first got famous in 2006 as a BIGBANG member. It was one of the biggest-selling K-pop boybands. He also pursued a solo career and his first solo album "Solar" in 2010.
Min Hyo-Rin is famous for her roles in the films "Sunny" and "The Grand Heist" and TV shows "Romance Town", "Triple", and "The Happy Loner". She also made an appearance in "Sister's Slam Dunk", the KBS reality show.
