BTS's V Follows BLACKPINK's Jennie On Instagram, Throws Fans Into A Frenzy

The Bangtan Boys finally launched their individual, personal Instagram accounts, after eight long years since they debuted and attained mega-stardom.

However, things took a rather surprising and unexpected turn, much to the excitement of the ARMY, which is the official name of the K-pop super group's fans. 

V, who is a member of BTS, sent netizens and fans worldwide into a frenzy and created a buzz online when he followed Jennie on Instagram. Jennie is a member of another superstar K-pop group, BLACKPINK. However, before fans of both the mega iconic groups could register what had happened, V immediately unfollowed Jennie.

Soon enough, V explained that he ended up following the other superstar singer because her name was recommended by Instagram. He asked his fans for help on Weverse, which is the official BTS channel. V asked if there is a way to get rid of the recommended friends list on Instagram and that it was a scary app. 

In just a few hours, the world of k-pop fans saw a huge commotion. Reportedly, die-hard BTS fans started to flood Twitter as well as Jennie's Instagram accounts with malicious and hateful comments. Some asked her to leave V alone. While some members of the ARMY as well as Blinks, who are the fans of BLACKPINK, started to speculate if the two mega, global stars were in a relationship. 

Blinks were quick to ask the ARMy that it was not Jennie's fault that V followed her and asked them to leave the BLACKPINK member alone. Simultaneously, a few members of the ARMY itself asked their fellow fans to stop bringing Jennie into the issue. Moreover, they pointed out that V can follow anyone he wants to on his personal social media account.

Meanwhile, V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, beat Hollywood A-lister, actress Angelina Jolie, in accumulating 1 million followers on Instagram in record time. The 25-year-old singer created a new record by gaining 10 million followers in record time. Moreover, within just a day, the vocalist's followers have already shot up to 20.8 million!

V also broke the record of Billie Eilish as his post became the fastest celebrity that reached 1 million likes in just four minutes.

The personal Instagram accounts of all the seven BTS members come ahead of the group's second official vacation. It will be the first time that RM, J-Hope, Suga, Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook will be spending the holiday season with their respective families since they made their debut in 2013.
