GOT7's Youngjae recently appeared on the web entertainment show "Pungja Loves Alcohol," uploaded on JDGY Studio's YouTube channel, where he shared his thoughts on maintaining privacy in his relationships.
During the show, Youngjae showed off his candid side while enjoying various types of alcohol. He discussed his career as a group member and soloist, but particularly caught the audience's attention when he delved into his private life.
When asked about his girlfriend, the "Err Day" singer playfully responded that he has seen Ahgase (the fandom) as his lover for ten years. Pungja expressed dissatisfaction with Youngjae's "very idol-like" answer, prompting further questions about his opinions on having a public relationship.
Youngjae surprised viewers by revealing that he is not in favor of making his relationships public, stating:
"This is just my opinion, but I think it's not the best. You see when you break up, there is an article that you break up, and when you get together, there is an article that you get together. Do people in the whole world have to know about my love life? The idea is that. Work-related field and your private life were separate things."
Pungja continued to press Youngjae, asking what he would do if his girlfriend wanted to make their relationship official. The singer firmly replied, "Okay, bye (to the girlfriend)." He then explained, "Because I think lovers should understand each other's situation."
Youngjae also offered a piece of advice to his junior idols considering dating, either secretly or publicly: "Just don't do it." He warned them against meeting outside and being too visible, as they would inevitably get caught. "You should think you got caught the moment you left. Everyone knows. They know it all. Be careful."
Since debuting with GOT7 in 2014, Youngjae has demonstrated his potential as a solo artist by releasing his first mini-album "COLORS from Ars" in 2021. He has since gained attention with his digital single "Walk With Me," his second mini-album "Sugar," and various musical activities such as musicals, OSTs, and collaborative sound sources.
On March 12, Youngjae returned to the music scene with his latest digital single, "Errr Day."
