Fans will be amused once again by an upcoming film by DreamWorks Animation "Home," which features Rihanna's voice.
"Home" is an upcoming American computer-animated buddy comedy film, which is based on 2007 children's book "The True Meaning of Smekday" authored by Adam Rex. The film will follow an optimistic alien race called Boov, which is ruled by Captain Smek. They enter the Earth to hide from their enemies. The aliens relocated humans to the Desert Planet. The story goes on as a teenage girl Tip meets a Boov named Oh.
The voice cast include Rihanna as Gratatuity "Tip" Tucci, Jim Parsons as Oh, Jennifer Lopez as Lucy Tucci, Steve Martin as Captain Smek, and Matt Jones as Kyle.
Author Adam Rex shared his thoughts on the upcoming animated film in Publishers Weekly. Rex expressed his gratitude for DreamWorks having appreciated his work through making the film. He also added that the creative team of the animated film put significance to what he thinks as they asked for his opinions as well as comments during their in-progress screenings.
The author also believes that both books and films have their own style, making them unique. He added that a film that is a book's mirror can be viewed as dead. The integrity of the basic story as well as the themes in the animated version of his book pleased the author.
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old performer Rihanna promoted her forthcoming animated movie over the weekend, as per Urban Mecca. She wore an emerald long-sleeved dress adorned with small black bows, plus a cardigan, reflecting a more conservative Rihanna. To match her outfit, she wore pointy heels together with black ankle socks.
Rihanna also talked about her character Tip. The superstar said that she blended a bit of personality with Tip. According to the singer, Tip is characterized as a "sassy" and "vibrant" girl. Such traits, however, are balanced by sweetness and innocence. This blended personality of the film's protagonist will touch the fans, as per Rihanna.
The animated film is directed by Tim Johnson, with Chris Jenkins and Suzanne Buirgy as producers. The film will be produced by DreamWorks Animation and will be distributed by 20th Century Fox.
"Home" is slated to premiere in theaters and cinemas on March 27.
