Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan will perform as a four-man group at their forthcoming performances in Jakarta and Manila this week. The pressures that come with being a member of a famed boy band, on top of numerous media hounding, have appeared to conquer Zayn Malik- another "One Direction" member, who has chosen to sign-off from their current' world tour.
Simon Jones, the group's publicist revealed that the singer has opted to return home despite the upcoming three appearances in Asia happening within the week.
"1D statement: Zayn has signed off with stress and is flying back to the UK to recuperate. The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta," he tweeted.
Aside from the "pressure" issues, Malik was also the subject of two headlines that came out earlier in the week. The first one was about his relationship with "Little Mix" Perrie Edwards following a circulating images of him and a woman while visiting Thailand. The second issue revolved around them being obliged to pay a bond worth of $5,000 (£3,300) to the Philippine's Bureau of Immigration, the Guardian reported. The latter was sparked by the boy band's video while on tour in Peru, where they were spotted smoking with what looked like marijuana.
"One Direction" became famous after the UK's "X Factor" in 2010, behind winner Matt Cardle and runner-up Rebecca Ferguson. A cultural phenomenon, they instantly became the first-ever boy band to top the US Billboard with the debut album. The third album, which is entitled "Midnight Memories," became the biggest-selling in 2013, worldwide.
