After hiatus, "The Flash" returned with good ratings and so did The CW's new series "iZombie."
During its series premiere, "iZombie" attracted 2.34 million viewers. It was one of the most watched premieres of the season for the networls, behind only the hit series "Arrow," "Supernatural" and "The Flash," according to TV By The Numbers.
"The Flash" was watched by 3.55 million viewers making it the second most watched TV show at 8 p.m. time slot.
The CW is also the home network of "America's Next Top Model," which is produced by 10 by 10 Entertainment in association with The Tyra Banks Company.
In 2014, "ANTM" aired Mondays for six weeks before returning to its regular Friday time slot. The modelling competition has produced models who are now actresses, such as Yaya DaCosta, Analeigh Tipton and recently Azmarie Livingston on Fox's "Empire."
Also in 2014, The CW's online-to-TV transplant "Seed" pulled in 490,000 viewers only and the Canadian import "Backpackers" attracted only 419,000 viewers on July 21, according to Deadline.
"It wasn't as successful as I hoped, to be launching 'Backpackers' and 'Seed' behind 'Whose Line," CW President Mark Pedowitz said.
According to Pedowitz, it is still CW's goal "to use 'Whose Line' as time goes on to see if we can launch other comedy, whether it be in the summer or in spring or alternative shows behind it."
"We believe our niche now for alternative is much more comedic reality. We feel that we'll be far more successful with that than anything else," Pedowitz added.
