While fans are eagerly waiting for the upcoming release of "Terminator Genisys," new photos from the film have been released in the May issue of Empire Magazine. Oscar winner J.K. Simmons also plays a support role in the film.
The photos showcase Arnold Schwarzenegger and Emilia Clarke, along with Simmons. There is also a photo of a T-800 Terminator driving a vehicle. The conviction of a futuristic setting of 2029 is visible in the grey, white, and black color scheme. The said images, which can be viewed in Coming Soon, suggest that the film is loaded with an action-packed storyline.
The cast members will include Schwarzenegger as The Terminator, Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor, and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese.
Simmons, who got the 2015 Academy Award and 2015 Golden Award for 2014's Whiplash, will also join the cast and play the supportive role of Detective O'Brien. Cinema Blend reveals that the character will be maximizing his position as a police detective to aid Schwarzenegger's old T-800 Terminator.
"Terminator Genisys" is an upcoming science fiction action film, which will serve as the fifth installment in the "Terminator" series. It will center on Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor finding himself in a new timeline. Reese will join forces with John Connor's mother Sarah and an old terminator to halt the Judgment Day.
The film is set to be piloted by Alan Taylor, together with Bill Carraro, avid Ellison, Megan Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Paul Schwake as producers. Laeta Kalogridis, Patrick Lussier, James Cameron, and Gale Anne Hurd are the film writers. The film is to be produced by Skydance Productions and is to be distributed by Paramount Pictures.
The crew is set to film in Louisiana and California in United States. Principal photography commenced on April 21 last year in New Orleans.
A second trailer is set to be released on April 3, together with "Fast and Furious 7."
"Terminator Genisys" is slated to premiere in theaters on July 1 this year.
