During the World Meteorological Day, an official from China's Meteorological Administration said that China is heating up faster than the rest of the world. The temperature is rising twice as fast when compared to other countries.
Zheng Guoguang from CMA spoke in length about the climatic conditions in the country and added that China has witnessed a 0.23 degree Celsius increase ever ten years. The data has been procured for a long time to submit the reports, from the middle of the 20th century to be precise.
Because of the added heat conditions, the country's GDP has lost one percent of its share and when compared to other countries in the world, it's eight times higher than any other region.
He added that the government and the people have been facing increased difficulties because of the climatic conditions, which is becoming warmer ever year. It has created diverse effects on overall agricultural production as well as created a shortage for availability of water.
The government has been focusing on reducing greenhouse gases and taken other measures including preservation of Three Gorges Dam which plays a significant role in ensuring that the production doesn't falter in mass volumes, according to a report by ECNS.
A national blueprint has also been issued which instructs the entire nation on guidelines so that they could better adapt themselves during the climatic changes that are set to occur between 2014 and 2020. China's greenhouse gas emission has been one of its chief contributors for heat. The government has signed a deal with US to control the emission and focus on renewable energy, reports QZ.
