Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, the famed Astrophysicist, slammed Florida's stand on "climate change" and its use in public communication through his appearances this week. Tyson was concerned and disappointed that the State that is most at risk to the effects of climate change chose to embrace a "foolhardy" policy, the Bradenton Herald reported.
Tyson, dubbed as the "sexiest astrophysicist alive," was the most recent speaker in Ringling College Library Association lecture series. During the press conference before his talk, Monday, the Hayden Planetarium Director was gregarious in answering everything about "global warming" and "climate change" encompassing issues that involved NASA and Governor Rick Scott.
The astrophysicist commented "My concern is that if you have political swaths of people who are in denial of emergent scientific truths, then they're not at the table to influence policy that could serve their political interests later on. The fact that we have politics at all means people don't always agree, and I think that's healthy," the Herald Tribune wrote.
"People always like to put blame on politicians for basically everything, and I have stopped doing that maybe 15 years ago. I don't blame politicians for a damn thing-because we chose to vote for these people! So who is ultimately accountable here? It is the electorate," he continued.
On space explorations, Tyson said that he does not think that there will ever be a human colony inhabiting Mars, not in this lifetime. He was strong to add that he sees people living in a moon than on Mars; though his hopes are high that in his lifetime, life will be discovered on other planets.
