Angelina Jolie has a multidimensional personality that keeps growing her fan following.
In a column with NY Times on Tuesday, Brad Pitt's wife said the early signs of ovarian cancer were displayed in her recent blood report and she did not want to take any chance. She holds up straight that she is full of life and a simple disease cannot stop her from combating back.
Medical experts on the basis of her blood report say that Jolie carries a mutation of BRCA1, which increases the risk for breast and ovarian Cancer. Experts across the globe are claiming it to be a turning point in awareness for genetic testing and prophylactic surgery to reduce chance for contracting breast and ovarian cancer.
Two years after Jolie's double mastectomy this news comes as an eye-opener for all her followers and public that prefer to remain silent on such issues. Her step is getting a big round of applaud from the medical experts calling it an inspirational move and a step to take life sportingly.
"I went through what I imagine thousands of other women have felt," Jolie wrote. "I told myself to stay calm, to be strong, and that I had no reason to think I wouldn't live to see my children grow up and to meet my grandchildren."
"I feel feminine, and grounded in the choices I am making for myself and my family," expressed Jolie.
To explain the readers, Jolie mentions without fail the after effects of surgery. She said the surgery left her with no signs of cancer but has brought early menopause. She even explained that a progesterone IUD has been inserted into her uterus to maintain the hormonal balance and prevent uterine cancer.
Like the 2013 "Angelina Effect," this announcement too is supposed to bring in mass revolution in terms of medical awareness of women.
