The story has a setting that is not very far from the present reality where internet gaming is very prominent among teenagers. Also, the virtual reality technology is becoming infamous and is starting to change how the world is. Through this technology, the creation of a virtual reality world Oasis was made where people can live in a world of their choice and value it more than the real world itself. In the Oasis, a teenager competes with other players on a treasure hunt. Since the founder of the game died, his fortune was then offered as the grand prize.
