Huawei Is Of No Threat To National Security: U.K.

For the past years, the United Kingdom government has been concerned that Huawei's networking devices aim to help the Chinese government to threaten their national security.

Huawei supplies a huge part of several network firms like BT, O2 and EE. This heightens the anxiety of security advocates and politicians. When Huawei started a Cyber Security Evaluation center in 2010 it lighten up their worries.

Huawei Cyber Security Evaluation Center (HCSEC) in Banbury provides the U.K. government insights to all of Huawei's products and strategies that will be used in their region, Xinhuanet reported.

The center is designed to test any incoming updates to Huawei's software and hardware peripherals that are intended to be used for U.K. networks. All staffs are employed by Huawei which worries the U.K. government. The U.K.'s Security and intelligence committee find the arrangement very uneasy.

According to Engadget, the government did their own investigation to the said arrangement.

The Oversight Board concluded that the HCSEC has done its obligations with regard to the assurance that any risks to the U.K. government's national security from Huawei's involvement in the country's perilous network have been diminished sufficiently.

"Any risks to UK national security from Huawei's involvement in the U.K.'s critical networks have been sufficiently mitigated," disclosed the Oversight board.

At present, the UK government remains worriless when it comes to Huawei. The HCSEC is just one area of the supply chain to protect the U.K.'s network and communication from any threats. The inspection will occur on a regular basis.
