A sequel for Pixar's 2004 animated superhero film "The Incredibles" is now on the works.
Film maker Brad Bird was the pilot and writer of the predecessor of the said animated film and he is now working on the story's development for the second film, as per Cinema Blend.
The voice cast members from the original film include Craig Nelson as Bob Parr/ Mr. Incredible, Holly Hunter as Helen Parr/Elastigirl, Sarah Vowell as Violet Parr, Spencer Fox as Dashiell Robert "Dash" Parr/ The Dash, and Eli Fucile and Maeve Andrews as Jack-Jack Parr.
Other members of the voice cast are Samuel Jackson as Lucius Best/ Frozone, John Ratzenberger as The Underminer, and Jason Lee as Buddy Pine/Syndrome.
However, Pixar has not made an official announcement regarding the director and the voice cast for the film's sequel. Also, there is no confirmation made as to whether the voice cast from the first film will be reprising their roles in the sequel.
As per Christian Post, there are currently no official details about the characters and the plot. However, it is rumored that the Parr children have grown up in the sequel. In addition, the sequel of the animated film could center on the Parr family's youngest member, Jack-Jack, who was revealed to have various supernatural abilities in the first movie.
Meanwhile, other rumors say that the sequel will feature the Parr family as well as the underminer, who is said to be a greater villain in the film. He is rumored to be the world's manipulator, who will have enslaved humanity. It is also speculated that the upcoming "The Incredibles 2" will present Parr children Dash and Jack-Jack coming from the future time.
"The Incredibles" is an American animated superhero film, which follows a family of superheroes who chose to conceal their powers and live a normal life. However, Mr. Incredible's natural inclination to help others engaged the family to save the world from its evil villain.
After its release last November 5, 2004, the first film got an estimated domestic gross of $261 million and an estimated $370 million, for an estimated total gross of $631 million. It won the 2004 Animated Feature Academy Award as well as 2004 Sound Editing Academy Award.
The film is to be produced by Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. Pixar Animation Studios is planning for a November 22, 2017 or a June 15, 2018 film release. However, the studio is also working on "Cars 3" as well as a film on "Dia de los Muertos." Meanwhile, fans have to wait for an official announcement with regard to the details.
