Hugh Jackman, who is famous for portraying the character Wolverine in the "X-Men" series, hinted that this might be his last time portraying the character.He made a surprising announcement on Twitter which was a picture of him wearing the character's iconic claws, and captioned the image as: "WOLVERINE...ONE LAST TIME. HJ."
Fox Entertainment had previously stated about an untitled Wolverine project which is set to come out on March 3, 2017. Jackman has appeared as Wolverine in seven "X-Men" films. He first appeared as Wolverine was in the first instalment of "X-Men" series in the year 2000.
Jackman last portrayal of the character was in "X-Men: Days of Future Past". The sequel," X-Men: Apocalypse" will be in theatres on May 27, 2016. The movie will include the characters from the previous film, Professor X played by James McAvoy, Magneto played by Micheal Fassbender and Mystique played Jennifer Lawrence, along with new actors portraying younger version of the famous characters from the original "X-Men" series, that includes Jean Grey played by Sophie Turner, Cyclops played by Tye Sheridan and Storm portrayed by Alexandra Shipp, according to Entertainment News.
Fox Entertainment has not made any statements to clarify what Jackman stated.The actor, however, is still due to appear as Wolverine in "X-Men: Apocalypse" and a third "Wolverine" movie. Even actress Jennifer Lawrence stated that "X-Men: Apocalypse" would be her last "X-Men" movie where she will be rehearsing the role of Mystique for the last time. Nicholas Hoult, who portrays the character of beast in both the films "X-Men: First Class" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past," revealed that "X-Men: Apocalypse" will be his last movie as beast since his contract is expiring.
With Jackman's statement, a lot of X-Men fans are disheartened. His portrayal of Wolverine immortalised the character.
