Google launched a new update today for its Gmail app on Android, including a new feature that allows a user to view all emails from separate Google accounts into one unified inbox.
The feature has been long anticipated by Android users for the Gmail app as iOS users already had it on their default Apple email app.
Gmail users will also be able to read and reply to each message, regardless of which account it came from, without the need to swap account tabs or even logging out and then in again.
The tech giant said that the new update also improves the auto-complete feature on the Gmail app, according to Tech Crunch.
Google did not clarify on how it made the auto-complete function better, but users who search for existing emails will find it more efficient and fast as the updated feature provides better suggestions that depend on the content of the user's messages.
Another added feature for Google's email app is the conversation views for supported third-party accounts such as IMAP/POP, Yahoo, Outlook and more.
Emails from supported third-party accounts will now be unified into conversations, similar to the default Gmail messages.
Google also added the capability to save the user's documents straight to their Google Drive with just a one tap. Previews for much larger files are now possible thanks to the update, according to Engadget.
The California-based search engine giant did not make an announcement on when the new update will be pushed to the iOS version of its Gmail app, or if they are planning to add the new features at all.
