A first teaser trailer for the 24th James Bond film "Spectre" has been released. The film has the biggest opening sequence, according to its producer.
The trailer gives fans suspense on the film, built mostly with exchange of ideas through lines as well as shots that do not include action scenes, as per Den of Geek. Based from the trailer, it is assumed that the film continues at where "Skyfall" left off.
The trailer opens with London with a destroyed building, the MI6, which presents a follow-up to the events in "Skyfall". Moneypenny hands over a case to Bond and she tells him, "You've got a secret." The case contains an order of temporary guardianship and a photo, which had its edges burned. The photo has three people, a man and two boys. The face of the other boy cannot be deciphered since it has been damaged by the burn. Then, Bond was on a boat, skimming as he heads to the mountains. This counts as the most captivating shot in the trailer, as per Den of Geek.
The next sequence shows a religious event, likely set in Rome, with people wearing black. A new mobile was also featured, the Aston Martin DB10, followed by Bond putting a ring on a chessboard. The ring logo indicates a significant role to the film. Then, Bond walks into a room with silhouettes of men, with their leader saying, "Welcome James, it's been a long time." This suggests that he has a significant relationship with Bond's life. Lastly, the title "Spectre" follows a gun shot.
Meanwhile, producer Michael Wilson expressed his thoughts on the opening sequence of the film in Empire Online. He said that the film's opening sequence is the biggest they have ever done. It took place during the national Day of the Dead festival in Mexico City. There will be exploding buildings, chasing scenes in the festival parade, brawling inside the helicopter, plus gun shooting battles at the rooftop.
"Spectre" is an upcoming action film, which follows the aftermath of the bombing of MI6. It stars Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, Ralph Fiennes as Gareth Mallory, Dave Bautista as Mr. Hinx, Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, Christopher Waltz as Oberhauser, Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra, and Daniel Craig as Bond.
Sam Mendes is set to helm the film, together with Ian Fleming, John Logan, Neal Purvis, and Robert Wade as writers. Along with Wilson, Zakaria Alaoui, Barbara Broccoli, Roberto Malerba, Callum McDougall, Wolfgang Ramml, and Gregg Wilson are the film producers. Filming took place in London, Rome, and Austria. From Mexico, filming will change its course and head to Morocco and then return to Pinewood.
The film will be the twenty-fourth Bond film produced by Eon Productions. It will be distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Columbia Pictures. A full trailer is expected to be released with "Jane Got a Gun" on Sept. 4.
"Spectre" is slated to premiere in theaters on Nov. 6.
