"This is the new America. We are the new America," chanted the 27-year-old Barbadian singer Rihanna. These words were mellifluous and spell-bound the enormous crowd that gathered to watch her perform in Indianapolis.
Shortly after taking the stage, she performed the new song from her forthcoming album which is is being produced by Kanye West as reports on Pitchfork suggest. The song was debuted for the NCAA's March Madness Music Festival which celebrated the match-up of the Final Four teams of Duke, Michigan, Kentucky and Wisconsin states.
Even though "American Oxygen" was played in and out of commercial breaks for the entirety of the NCAA tournament, last night marked the first time when we heard the entire song. The sensational singer performed in red trousers and white tied top with a blue overcoat and looked exquisite.
Ariana Bacle expressed that the new track isn't a club banger. Its rather a slower song with a "soulful take on living in America" in Entertainment Weekly.
Not just this, Rihanna ridiculed the Indiana's controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) by inciting "Who's feeling these new bulls**t laws that they're trying to pass over here?"
"American oxygen" was followed by Rihanna's recent singles "Four Five Seconds," "B***h Better Have My Money," "Rockstar 101," "Stay," "We Found Love" and "Diamonds."
Also, a lot more is in the store for the fans. Rihanna had uploaded chunks of her new song called "Higher" on Instagram. Also, the forthcoming animated movie "Home," which features Rihanna's song "Towards The Sun" and a new song called "Dancing In The Dark."
Rihanna's untitled eighth LP, which is a follow-up to 2012's "Unapologetic" is aslo due out later this year.
