Film directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are said to helm an upcoming film from the DC Cinematic Universe, "The Flash."
Sony Pictures and Warner Bros. are considering directors Lord and Miller to pilot an upcoming film, as per Meet the Movie Press. It is uncertain if the film the two directors are going to helm is "The Flash" or "Ghostbusters."
Lord and Miller are the men who spearheaded 2014's "The Lego Movie," which had an estimated worldwide gross of $468 and "22 Jump Street," which gained an estimated international gross of $331. With the success of both movies, it is highly possible that a movie helmed by the two directors will receive high appeal from the audience. Last year, they did not push on making "Ghostbusters." However, with the new take of Paul Feig, the directors may become interested to helm it. It is also likely for the directors to helm "The Flash," since the Scarlet Speedster has appeared as a character in "The Lego Movie."
Menwhile, Jason Momoa gave a hint on the tone of the upcoming blockbuster "Justice League: Part One" in The Hollywood Reporter the other day. The actor said that while the film has no script yet, he will "bring" his "professionalism" as well as "his sense of humor" to the film, hoping the audience will like it. With the humor of "The Lego Movie" and Jason Momoa's tease, the DC Cinematic Universe may not be seen having a very serious tone. Fans may see a light yet thrilling adaptation of the films.
"The Flash" is an upcoming film adaptation of the superhero of the same name in DC Comics. Also known as "Scarlet Speedster," the "Crimson Comet," and "The Blur," the character possesses super speed ability, allowing him to run and move extremely fast and utilize superhuman reflexes. Such superhuman abilities allow "The Flash" to deviate some laws of physics. The character first appeared in "Flash Comics #1" in January 1940.
The upcoming film will star Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash. The superhero is part of the Justice League heroes in "Justice League: Part One," along with Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, , and Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg. No official announcement has been given yet on the actor behind Green Lantern.
Greg Berlanti, Chris Brancato, Gardner Fox, Michael Green, Marc Guggenheim, Geoff Johns, Harry Lampert, and Dan Mazeau are set to pen the film script. Alex Gartner, Geoff Johns, and Dan Mazer are the film producers.
"The Flash" is slated to premiere on Mar. 23, 2018 while Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is set to hit theaters in the United States on Mar. 25, 2016.
