A new trailer has been released for the upcoming horror film "Poltergeist."

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and 20th Century Fox has released another trailer, which escalates the thrill for the fans, as per Movie Web. The new trailer started off with a boy going down the stairs. He saw his sister in front of the television. The trailer also showed horrifying experiences of the family in their house, which included a tree branch pulling a character, blood oozing from the eyes and nose while washing, the little girl getting pulled to the stairs, and a possessed clown doll attacking a boy. Such scenes from the trailer are the "best moments" from the 1982 version of the film.

"Poltergeist" is an upcoming modern film adaptation of Tobe Hooper's 1982 film of the same name. It follows a family whose home is invaded by angry spirits. As the horrifying phantom intensifies their attacks, taking the youngest daughter, the family should converge to save her.

Hooper's 1982 version had a famous line "They're here." uttered by Heather O-Rourke. It became one of the most memorable movie quotes of all time, as per Celebeat. The movie got a gross of around $74.7 million and was followed by two sequels - "Poltergeist II: The Other Side" (1986) and "Poltergeist III" (1988).

The film will star Sam Rockwell as Eric Bowen, Jared Harris as Carrigan Burke, Rosemarie DeWitt as Amy Bowen, Saxon Sharbino as Kendra Bowen, Kyle Catlett as Griffin Bown, Kennedi Clements as Madison Bowen, Nicholas Braun as Boyd, Susan Heyward as Sophie, Jane Adams as Dr. Claire Powell, and Soma Bhatia as Lauren.

Gil Kenan is set to helm the film, along with Audrey Chon, Becki Cross Trujillo, Nathan Kahane, Roy Lee, John Powers Middleton, Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert, and J.R. Young as his co-producers. David Lindsay-Abraire is set to pen the film script. Principal photography commenced in September 2013.

"Poltergeist" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United states on May 22.
