Pope Francis called for all violence happening all over the world to end. This was the Pope's message at the mass held at the Vatican on Easter Sunday.
The Pope wanted to remind the world of the Vatican's status as a state and the role he is playing as a moral diplomat during his speech at the end of the Easter Sunday mass. He is saddened by the violence that is happening everywhere and the sufferings of the victims of such crimes that are making the news, according to CNN.
He called that humanitarian help comes to those who needs them most and that the war at Iraq and Syria would finally end soon.
"May the international community not stand by before the immense humanitarian tragedy unfolding in these countries and the drama of the numerous refugees," he said in his "urbi et orbi" address, Latin for "to the city (Rome) and to the world."
He then turned to the Holy Land where he mentioned about the peace process between the Palestinians and the Israelis would continue.
According to Latin Times, the Pope talked about the economic oppression too. His speech included asking for peace and freedom from people who held many men and women hostage or put them into enslavement. The Pontiff also mentioned those corrupt officials that collaborated with the mentioned forms of hardships.
The Pontiff expressed his wish to call upon those groups who have been engaged in drug dealing, arms dealing, and dishonest officials to stop and finally make peace.
The Holy Father ended his speech consoling the poor, the sick, the oppressed, and those who are suffering and wished everyone a Happy Easter.
