It looks like "The Vampire Diaries" is set to bid goodbye to two of its cast members - Michael Trevino and Nina Dobrev. While Dobrev confirmed the news about her exit via an Instagram post, showrunner Julie Plec said in a statement about Trevino's exit.
"Michael [Trevino] has been a beloved member of the Vampire Diaries family since day one. Even though he's also going to be out in the world exploring new opportunities, we look forward to finding creative ways to make sure he and his character Tyler Lockwood always remain a part of the show," Plec said in a statement (via HollywoodLife.com).
Trevino has played the character of Tyler Lockwood since the start of the show. He appeared as Tyler in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 1, episode 1. The character was born on February 10, 1992 and was turned by Klaus Mikaelson in 2010. He is currently a college student and an untriggered werewolf.
Meanwhile, Nina Dobrev also confirmed the rumours about her exit from the show in Season 6.
"I've just spent the most beautiful weekend on Lake Lanier in Georgia with my own TVD Family, the cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries. I want to be the first to tell you that it wasn't just a holiday celebration, it was a goodbye party," Dobrev wrote in an Instagram post addressed to the "TVD" family.
The actress said in the post that fans can expect much more to come before the season finale that airs in May. She invited everyone to join the adventurous life of Elena Gilbert. Read more about Nina Dobrev's story, here.
