"OC" star Mischa Barton is suing her mom, Nuala Barton, for allegedly stealing her money and breaching their oral contract.
According to the lawsuit obtained by E! News, Mischa is also suing Nuala for lying about the money she earned for a film she starred in 2013. The latter allegedly pocketed the difference.
"This action arises from the tragic tale of a greedy stage mother posing a talent manager who, instead of acting in best interest of her daughter/client, schemed to defraud her unsuspecting victim," the court document stated.
The lawsuit also revealed that Mischa's parents have not had work for more than a decade now and are therefore just expecting to survive through their daughter's hard-earned money, SMH reported.
"From the outset, Nuala positioned herself to siphon her daughter's hard-earned money by purportedly acting as her talent manager," according to court documents.
According to the actress, her mother recently kicked her out of their Beverly Hills home which was purchased through her earnings from her early career.
At the age of 19, Mischa was able to purchase the $4.2 million property while working on the set of "OC."
Last year, it was revealed that Barton failed to pay approximately $100,000 in mortgage debts so the property was at risk of being foreclosed.
In 2010 and 2011, the actress tried to sell the property but to no avail.
As of late, Mischa is seeking "recovery of what her own mother stole from her and to be able to proceed with her career free of the meddling that Nuala continues to engage and in damages she continues to cause," the court document also stated.
Mischa also guest-starred on "Law & Order: SVU" and later on appeared in a various small independent television shows and movies. She is currently dividing her time living in New York City, London and Beverly Hills.
Mischa and Nuala have not yet released their individual statements following the court filing.
