From travelling the cosmos as Star Lord in Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" to running with the dinosaurs as Owen Grady in the upcoming "Jurassic World," rising star Chris Pratt is rumored to star in the "Indiana Jones" franchise.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn utilized the new social-media app Periscope to respond to questions asked by fans, according to Variety. The Periscope app can be styled as a blend of Twitter and Snapchat with video. Users can stream a video while queries and responses are displayed on the screen.
Gunn tackled the rumor that Pratt could conceivably be the next icon playing "Indiana Jones," saying that it would be "very cool" but it seems to be unlikely. It is highly possible that he got the detail from the reference as he and Pratt had been hanging out lately.
The actor said that he had no idea and it was his first time to hear about it, as per Cinema Blend. He heard of the rumor when fans began asking him to sign Indiana Jones trappings.
"Indiana Jones" centers on the ventures of Dr. Henry "Indiana" Jones, an artifact researcher. The franchise began with "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark", "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", and "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade."
In 1992, "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" was released. It centered on the character's adventures when he was young. Another film entitled "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" was released in 2008.
Extensions of the franchise took place in 1983 when Marvel Comics published "The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones." Novel forms of the franchise also rose such as those by Bantam Books and Wolfgang Hohbein. In 1982, people had access to "Indiana Jones" video games.
For now, Pratt fans club members have to wait as to whether the actor will wear the leather jacket and hat playing the role of an adventurer-archaeologist. Meanwhile, Pratt has also been revealed as part of the cast of Antoine Fuqua's "The Magnificent Seven" and fans will get to meet the actor in Colin Trevorrow's "Jurassic World" on Jun. 12.
