Disney has been successful in transforming its classic tales into live-action films. From the remakes "Alice in Wonderland," Maleficent," and "Cinderella," the Mouse House has recently announced that it is going to create a live world of the legendary warrior "Mulan." As per Deadline, Disney's most famous wooden puppet boy is fated to enter the big screen. Its screenplay will be penned by scribe Peter Hedges. "Pinocchio" is a classic tale about a puppet boy carved from wood whose desire is to become a real boy. Pinocchio has been also known to have a longer nose every time he tells a lie.

Originally created by writer Carlo Collidi in his 1883 novel "The Adventures Of Pinocchio," "Pinocchio" has taught people to uphold the values of optimism, honesty, as well as love among family members.

No further specific details has been announced for "Pinocchio." According to Screenrant, the tale also has other versions in the works as previously rumored.

Film helmer Guillermo del Toro also has plans to co-direct "Pinocchio" along with script writer Matthew Robbins, which will be supported by global investors. His version is said to be presented as a "darker version" of the original. Other works of del Toro that showcase similar nature include 2014's "The Book of Life" and this year's "Crimson Peak," which stars Mia Wasikowska and Tom Hiddleston.

Tim Burton strategized on a live-action "Pinocchio" before, supposedly starring Robert Downey Jr. However, it did not push through since Ben Stiller was rumored to helm the film when Burton left. There were no updates on the said project after that.

At this point, the classic Disney tale has no other information to reveal. While Disney has revealed other works destined for a live-action remake such as "Beauty and The Beast," "Dumbo," "The Jungle Book," and "Mulan," fans will also be eager to wait for the release of "Pinocchio" as one of Disney's masterworks.
