Simon Cowell finally gave a message on the exit of Zayn Malik from the band One Direction and he adviced the singer to get his head together if he wants a solo career.
In an interview with SugarScape last Thursday during an event celebrating the ninth season of the show "Britain's Got Talent," Cowell noted that Malik is a great singer but he really needs to take the time off and think about what he really wants to do.
Cowell also mentioned that Malik did say he wanted to have a normal life as a 22-year-old and he is having that now but he advised the former band member of the group to think hard about what he wants in his life. Cowell shared that he always told the members of One Direction that their success depends on what they want to do.
When asked about the band, Cowell shared that he feels that the band will stick together for a long time and despite Malik's exit, he still believes that the band will go a long way. The 55-year-old TV personality shared that the band is just in a very good place now for them to stop.
Aside from being a TV personality, Cowell is also the owner of Syco Music and when asked if he wants to sign Malik as a solo artist if given the change, Cowell said he will not give away any information about his plans.
This is the second time that Cowell talked about Malik as he did say right after Malik's announcement that he was sad that Malik had to leave. However, this is the first time that he acknowledged the fact that Malik might start a solo career.
Meanwhile, according to E! News, the band will still continue with their tour as a foursome and Malik's appearances in their videos have already been removed after he announced his departure. However, the band is on a hiatus and the tour will start again this coming June.
