Following the innovative design of Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, Chinese electronics manufacturer Oppo surprised the tech community after leaked images of the bezel-less Oppo R7 made rounds on the Internet.
The yet to be confirmed R7 sports a bezel-less design that is similar to that of the Galaxy S6 Edge. Based on the images that leaked on Chinese microblogging website Weibo, the new R7 is ultra-thin.
According to Android Community, the Oppo R7 is not the first to adapt to the bezel-less design of smartphones. Sharp previously released the Aquos Crystal but only saw little success.
Oppo has yet to confirm if the leaked photos are legitimate or not but this did not stop netizens to speculate that the company might be targeting the highly successful Galaxy S6 Edge. Despite rumors saying that Oppo is copying Samsung's design, the R7's bezel-less display is a patented technology from Oppo.
Oppo has yet to release the R7's official specification. This did not deter online communities to speculate what would be inside the phone.
According to Ubergizmo, the R7 will have full HD display at 1920 x 1080 resolution and there is also the possibility that Oppo might consider going to Quad HD display. Following the latest trend in smartphone manufacturing, it wouldn't be a surprise if the new R7 will have an octa-core processor and at least 3GB of internal memory.
Among the rumored chip to be integrated into the R7 is the MediakTek MT6795 processor. Other blogging sites also speculate that the new Oppo smartphone will have a 20.7megapixel camera.
