The cloud computing services giant Twilio recently announced that it will extend video services to enterprises along with the SDK (Software Development Kit).
This is a key step for Twilio in the field of extended services for the communication platform. Uber, Salesforce, The Home Depot, Intuit alon with Coca Cola are currently the clients of Twilio and enjoy the voice and messaging services it provides, according to News Factor.
The Web Rtc standard will be used by the company to make it easy for the clients to insert video services into software services, apps, browsers and Web sites, ZD Net stated.
Twilio is providing more than a billion voice minutes in a single year and is also hoping that the new step of video extension will up its usage in the market. According to the Twilio officials, the Web Rtc video will be running through the 28 centers which the company has all over the globe, which is divided in seven regions. Client-side deployments will be covered by the software libraries.
This move also highlights the fact that the video services are becoming more and more important and critical to all the enterprises in order to achieve good customer support and collaboration. The company will support up to four calling connections, which will all be peer to peer connections. It will also provide unlimited video connections and low relay in the latency. Also, a mobile stack will be deployed on the mobile platforms, which will help in smooth operation on the cellular device. This whole package will be supported by Zendesk, which is already a long term partner of the company and provides support to its cloud computing services.
