Gwyneth Paltrow is currently being criticized for not meeting her recent food stamp challenge of consuming $29 worth of food within a week.
Paltrow dined at the Animal restaurant in Los Angeles, where she feasted on an $80 plate of barbeque, The Hollywood Reporter noted.
On her Goop website, Paltrow wrote, "Last week, chef and good man Mario Batali challenged me to raise awareness and money for the NYC Food Bank by trying to live on $29 for the week. Dubious that I could complete the week, I donate to the Food Bank at the outset, and all of us at the goop office began the challenge."
Paltrow revealed that she and her Good staff only survived the challenge for four days. When she finally broke out of it, she decided to consume chicken and fresh vegetables.
The actress clarified that she is not hiding what had transpired and stressed that her perspective on how to eat healthy and nutritious foods at a very small budget has been forever changed.
After realizing that it was indeed difficult to live on $29 per week alone, Paltrow revealed that she was able to come up with some recipes while trying to stick within her budget, according to E! News.
Paltrow then gave herself a C- after trying and failing at the challenge.
"After trying to complete this challenge (I would give myself a C-), I am even more outraged that there is still not equal pay in the workplace... Let's all do what we can to make this a basic human right and not a privilege," she concluded.
