The release of the "Grand Theft Auto V" video game on the PC platform finally lets hardcore and dedicated gamers reach the 60 frames-per-second refresh rate at 1080p resolution which is unattainable in console, according to EuroGamer.

However, the question still stands. What does it take to run "GTA V" on 1080p at 60fps?

According to Forbes, a PC with i7-5960x processor, 16GB of RAM, an AMD Radeon 285 video card and High Quality setting can run the game in 1080p with an average of 91.5fps. Adjusting the resolution to 1440p drops the refresh rate to an average of 71.8fps.

Running the game on the same settings and 1080p resolution, only this time changing the video card to an Nvidia GTX 960 will give an average refresh rate of 103fps. Changing the resolution to 1440p will give out an average 67.22fps frame rate.

Many factors can affect the game's overall refresh rate, this includes hardware specification and game settings. Turning the Anti-Aliasing on and increasing the game's draw distance can seriously affect its overall performace.

Given these benchmark results only proves that PC gaming is still superior compared to console, at least on the graphics point-of-view.

On the PC version of "GTA V," Rockstar Games throw in a variety of tweaking option and tools. One of the most useful is a meter that allow players to track Video RAM usage when tweaking through various graphical and performance setting. This help players to decide how much frame rate they want especially when adjusting sensitive options like anti-aliasing, draw distance and population variety among others.
