Filming of Vin Diesel's upcoming movie "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk" made people furious after they were stopped from visiting their loved ones at a veteran cemetery.
Veterans and relatives were mad after they were halted by Diesel's forthcoming film from visiting their departed loved ones at Georgia National Cemetery, as per Fox News.
Aside from being stopped from visiting their loved ones' graves and turning the place into a "Hollywood movie set", the cemetery visitors complained about the traffic and damage to the grounds caused by the production of the movie.
One woman said that the place is not Hollywood, but a veteran cemetery. A man said that the cemetery had a "circus atmosphere" during the said. Another woman stated that she was hurt, mad, and could not believe what happened.
Peggy Simpson, a widow of an American soldier, was dismayed due to the film production in the cemetery where her husband was buried, as per AZ Family.
Simpson said that she saw "destruction, disgust, dishonor, and disrespect" upon her arrival at the cemetery. There were also things that she did not like when she went to the place last April 13, such as the flag covered coffins that were used as props, mud from the production crew, as well as the road blockage.
The head of the Cherokee County Office of Economic Development said that the production setup was "minimal and well-organized," with the actors and crew "respectful" of their surroundings.
The judgment to permit film production in facilities such as national memorial parks is done on a "case-by-case basis", according to the spokesman of Department of Veterans Affairs.
There were no statement coming from the crew and the actors.
"Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk" is an upcoming film about a soldier and his squad. They return to the United States after an intense war in Iraq.
The film stars Vin Diesel, Chris Tucker, Kristen Stewart, Garrett Hedlund, Steve Martin, Ben Platt, and Joe Alwyn. Ang Lee is set to helm the film.
"Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk" is slated to premiere in theaters on Nov. 11, 2016.
