Motorola released the entry level smartphone Moto E 2015 model on Feb. 25. The smartphones main market point is its affordability, which appeals to budget-minded consumers.
The 2015 Moto E comes in two variants, the LTE and the 3G model. The two models has almost similar specification except for the processor. The LTE model uses a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 4x Cortex A53 1.2GHz processor with Adreno 306 GPU while the 3G model has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 4x Cortex A7 1.2 GHz with Adreno 302 for its graphics.
The 2015 Moto E still has 1GB of internal memory but now uses DDR3 RAM type, an upgrade to the 2014 model which uses DDR2 RAM. The new Moto E also received an upgrade 8GB internal storage with microSD compatibility in case user's wants to add additional storage space.
Both the LTE and 3G model of the Moto E will have 5 megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus capable of capturing resolution up to 2592 x 1922. The front camera has a maximum resolution of 640x480. The 2015 Moto E's battery was also upgraded to 2390mAh compared to the 2014 model which only has 1900 mAh battery.
Both LTE and 3G model will run on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with for Android 5.1 capability once the update rolls out. Standard hardware like the Wi-Fi adapter, 3.5mm audio jack and microUSB 2.0 is also added on both variants, according to GSM Arena.
According to AnandTech, the Moto E will have two HSPA models and one LTE model. There will be an LTE with UMTS band version that will be released in the US market, a 3G only version for the US market as well and a global 3G version. The difference between the US and Global 3G model is the addition of 170MHz band for T-Mobile support while the Global model will have 900/1200MHz bands.
