Motorola has already rolled out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Motorola Moto X and the Motorola Moto G but its Motorola Droid device has not even reached the Soak test phase.
Users of the Motorola Droid Turbo has become anxious over the past few months waiting for the Lollipop update.
Motorola is known to test software compatibility to its devices through the Soak test. The Soak test is invite-only and only selected users are allowed to participate. Motorola uses this test in order to uncover bugs or any instability issues that might come up once official release is made.
Lately, Motorola has already rolled out Android 5.0 Soak test for its Moto X and Moto G models but users of the Motorola Droid Turbo has been complaining that no update has been released for their specific phone model. A Soak test was previously released for the Droid Turbo which was initially thought to be for the Android 5.0 update but it comes out to be a different update, according to AutooMobile.
Android Lollipop 5.0.2 Soak test for the Moto X started in March and industry experts say that once the soak test phase is done, Motorola will start to release the update to its users, according to Techno Buffalo.
Rumors claim that Motorola is waiting for the Android 5.1 update to be rolled out before it updates the Motorola Droid. If these rumors are true, then Droid users will have to wait a little longer for them to update their phone's software.
Rumors has it that Google will release Android 5.1.1 within the quarter and HTC Nexus 9 will be the first to recieve the update.
