Floyd Mayweather Jr. will defeat southpaw fighter Manny Pacquiao on May 2 at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, according to British professional boxer Amir Khan, who is also preparing for his upcoming fight against Chris Algieri.
"I really think Floyd will win this fight," said Khan while in his training camp in San Francisco, The Guardian reported.
According to Khan, Mayweather can tackle a southpaw fighter like Pacquiao as he "has probably been with every (kind of) fighter, with different styles (such as) come-forward fighters, backward fighters, quick fighters, guys who are quick on their feet, (and those) who are slow on their feet.
Khan explained that he favors Mayweather Jr. because he has not been beaten and he thinks he is a better boxer than Pacquiao. He said, "A boxer will always beat a fighter, and I think Manny's more of a fighter."
For Khan, Mayweather Jr. is the number one boxer in the world and he has always wanted to fight the number. On the other hand, he said Mayweather Jr. will have the biggest problems with Pacquiao's fighting style.
Comparing his fighting style to Pacquiao's, Khan said he has a different range, length, size, speed, power and footwork.
On Nov. 22, 2014, Pacquiao won the boxing welterweight fight against Algieri via unanimous decision for the WBO Welterweight Championship at Cotai Arena, The Venetian in Macau.
On May 29, Algieri is set to fight Khan on Premier Boxing Champions on at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and Khan's critics generally underestimate Algieri, which for Khan's trainer Virgil Hunter is not fair, according to Boxing News.
