The Motorola Droid Turbo might have won accolades wordwide though things are set for a change now that the LG G4 has come on to the scene.
Among the impressive features of the Droid Turbo include its excellent display, slick performance, stock Android and a huge battery. Does the G4 improve on what we already know as one of the best Android flagships out there, the Droid Turbo?
Display: To begin with, the impressive 5.2 inch Quad HD AMOLED display of the Turbo has found competition in the 5.5 inch Quad HD LCD display of the G4. Pixel wise, its 565ppi of the Turbo vs 538ppi of the G4 though visually, the G4 looks brighter and more inviting thanks to the Quantum Dots technology that it employs. So accordng to phonearena, its advantage G4 here.
Processor, memory and storage: Coming to the processing abilities, while neither is a slouch by any means, the G4 is a step ahead thanks to the 64 bit hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset it comes powered with. In comparison, the quad-core Snapdragon 805 looks to have seen its best days already. Both make do with a DDR3 3 GB RAM. As for internal storage, its 64 GB for the Turbo compared to 32 GB for the G4. The latter though make up for the less memory with a microSD card slot.
Camera: If the number of pixels is the measure of a better camera than the Turbo with its 20 mp sensor wins hands down compared to the 16 mp that the G4 employs. However, where LG has done a better job is that it has packed in an assortment of imaging technology such as OIS, color spectrum analyzer, and LaserAF. Unfortunately, the Turbo lacks in usability with its camera app in spite of having a higher sensor. Both do offer other goodies though, such as 4K video recording and HDR.
In a related development, both the Moto 360 and the LG G Watch R has benefitted from a latest round of price cuts which is now reflected in the respective pages in the Google Play Store as well, stated gsmarena. This makes the Moto 360 to be priced at $180 while the LG device will now cost $250.
The price cut can be explained considering the Apple iWatch is now out of the woods and is already creating ripples. Both Motorola and LG have also stated they are into developing the newer versions of their smartwatches as well, which is another reason for the 'older' versions to be given a price cut.
