Developer Novum Analytics is creating a new augmented reality mobile phone game that turns your home into a spooky house, Tech Times reported.
Night Terrors uses a system designed to map the layout of a player's house through their phone, using its headphones, screen, camera and flashlight, to place them in a haunted environment, with real-time created photorealistic enemies.
According to the team, the game uses four algorithms to create a map of a player's house. The game is also designed to predict the player's behavior, what they will do next and where they will go, and manipulating them to go in specific directions.
The game's plot centers around saving a girl who has become trapped in another world. The ghosts are created from filmed clips of actors and puppets. They appear on the screen of the mobile phone as if they are standing right in front of the player.
Night Terrors is played at night with all the lights off. The player holds their mobile device in front of them and uses it to inspect their house as they move around.
Developer Novum Analytics said that it wants to develop the most realistic augmented reality computer game in the world. It has been working on the game for two years and is seeking funding through an Indiegogo campaign. The campaign runs until the mid-June and games are believed to start rolling out in September of this year.
You can't buy the game yet, but you can preorder it via Indiegogo, according to io9.
