Reality TV stars Kendall and Kylie Jenner are trying to trademark their names. According to recent reports, the girls from the hit reality show "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" have filed an application last month to to copyright their monikers.
The 17-year-old younger Jenner, who rose to fame due to her appearances in the show KUWTK, is reportedly trying her hand in modelling. The rumoured aspiring singer and on-and-off girlfriend of rapper Tyga seems eager to secure control over her name in the fields of entertainment, fashion and pop culture. TMZ reported that the teenager has claimed that once the trademark is granted, she probably will not hesitate in suing other stars using her first name, if it becomes a source of confusion.
It is noteworthy here that the teenager shares her first name with the popular Australian singer, Kylie Minogue. The singer, who does have an existing trademark on her full name, has yet to comment on the news.
Meanwhile, elder Jenner and fashion model, Kendall, have also joined the younger sister in the endeavour. The 19-year-old slender beauty has applied to trademark her name for use on clothing, hair accessories, bags and beauty products, among other items.
Kylie, who is also a half sibling to Kim, Khloe, Kourtney Kardashian, has also applied to trademark both 'Kendall & Kylie' and 'Kendall and Kylie' in her application, Huffington Post reported.
This is not the first time that a celebrity is resorting to trademark and copyrights for financial gain. A couple of months back, pop star Taylor Swift has filed to trademark a bunch of lyrical phrases from her album including "Party Like It's 1989," "This Sick Beat," "Cause We Never Go Out of Style," "Could Show You Incredible Things" and "Nice to Meet You, Where You Been."
