"Freaky Friday" star Lindsay Lohan is facing a major legal trouble as she has reportedly not completed her required 125 remaining hours of community service. The Los Angeles court has come down strongly on the star saying that she will now face "consequences" if she doesn't finish her community service later this month.
Lohan is on probation for a 2012 reckless driving case when she crashed her sports car on Pacific Coast Highway. The actress was ordered to complete 240 hours of community service over three years.
On May 7, Thursday, hearing, Lohan's lawyer Shawn Holley reportedly explained to Los Angeles Superior Court judge, Mark A. Young, that the actress has somehow managed to complete 10 hours and was unable to complete the rest of the required hours due to the 90-minute distance between her home and service organization, People reported. Also the actress' attorney claimed that since the actress is presently out of work, she is not able to afford the cost of daily travel.
Therefore, the judge allowed Lohan to complete her hours at the Brooklyn Community Center instead, warning her to be ready to face consequences if the hours are not completed by May 28.
With only 20 days left in the final verdict, Lohan literally has to race against the time to spend every day at the centre for the required service. Going by the rule book, she can only spend four hours there, but the judge has reportedly waived off that clause to give her a last chance to save herself from jail, New York Daily News reported.
Earlier in the day, Lohan posted an image of piles of envelope on her Instagram account, wrongly captioning it as "communist service-Office day." The caption was later edited as "community service."
