Chinese director Feng Xiaogang takes a different platform as he produces "Only You," an upcoming romantic comedy film directed by rookie filmmaker Zhang Hao.
In a press conference held on Tuesday, Feng introduced the movie to the Chinese public and shared his view on romance.
"Only You" is a story of mismatched lovers encountering a series of conflicts.
The movie will feature China's award-winning stars Tang Wei, best known for playing Wang Chia-chi in Ang Lee's "Lust, Caution," as well as Chinese film and theater actor Liao Fan.
The whole storyline of the movie was not revealed yet by the directors and producers.
But Feng made the conference more interesting as he revealed his evaluation on women's "limited IQs" in romance, China Daily reported.
According to the director, women's intelligence should be considered when falling in love as they get easily swayed by men's deception.
Feng also hinted that he prefers bad boy figures in romance as a man should be "a bit bad" to win the heart of his desired woman.
"Good guys are really boring," the director added.
Feng Xiaogang is a highly successful commercial filmmaker when it comes to comedy films, with most of his films standing out in Chinese box office.
In the recently held Beijing International Film Festival, Feng was awarded a Chevalier Award--also known as the Knights award--which is the third order of merit under the Order of Arts and Letters by the government of France, for his contributions to the enhancement of the arts and literature of the French culture.
