During an eexchange of messages with a fan on Mother's Day, pop star Taylor Swift revealed that losing her mother is her worst fear. Swift disclosed her vulnerable side while responding to a fan, who shared her grief over her mother's death in an open letter.
"I love you so much and can't imagine what you must be feeling today," wrote the 25-year-old star, whose own mother, Andrea Finlay, is battling with cancer, on her Tumblr page. "You've lived through my worst fear."
Swift further tried to console her fan by writing that it is certainly not fair and that she admires her ability to put "forth such a sunny, sweet disposition." The fan, who calls herself "iced coffee girl," informed the "Shake It Off" crooner that her mother passed away last January and credited the star for making her happy during the hardest phase of her life. Swift's thoughtful and touching reply probably unveils just a bit of her own experience and sadness which she is undergoing owing to her mother's illness, MTV reported. The star had announced on April 9 that her mother had been diagnosed with cancer after she urged her to get medically screened as her Christmas gift.
No further information is available yet about the course of treatment given to 59-year-old celebrity mom. It was declared earlier that Finlay will not be able to accompany Swift on her recent "1989" tour as she has an "important battle to fight."
Since the announcement, Finlay, who earlier used to accompany her daughter on most of the occasions, is hardly spotted out in public. However, she made a rare public appearance last month in an event held to honor her daughter with the Milestone Award at the American Country Music Awards, Daily Mail reported.
