Pixar announced in March the development of the action-comedy animated film "The Incredibles 2" as part of their line-up. Recently, film director Brad Bird himself has confirmed that he will be working on the said film.
The "Ratatouille" filmmaker also said that he had a lot of ideas that he was not able to use in the original "Incredibles" film, as per Collider. The reason why he did not have a chance to apply those ideas is lack of time.
Aside from Bird's previous ideas, the film helmer has also come up with new ideas that he can instill in the upcoming movie.
The director added that he is going to focus on the superpowered family after the release of the action-adventure film, "Tomorrowland," which stars George Clooney, Britt Robertson, and Hugh Laurie.
It was also reported that Bird was considered by Lucasfilm President and producer Kathleen Kennedy to pilot the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens."
The filmmaker pushed to handle the preparation of the seventh installment of the "Star Wars" franchise along with the production of "Tomorrowland."
However, Bird later opted to drop "Star Wars," since he could not physically manage both projects simultaneously. In addition, the director wanted to focus on raising an original idea such as "Tomorrowland" to the big screen.
Meanwhile, Bird has not revealed any information about the exact plot details and casting of the film sequel, as per Cinema Blend.
"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" actor Samuel L. Jackson has claimed that he will reprise his role in the film as Frozone, the ice-creating superhero and bestfriend of Mr. Incredible.
As for the storyline, there have been rumors that the sequel will pick up right after the events of the original film while some speculations from fans say that the children Dash, Violet, and Jack-Jack might have grown up in the sequel.
Fans have to wait for film updates at this point, since the film is still in its early phase of development.
"The Incredibles 2" has no release date yet while "Tomorrowland" is set to hit theaters on May 22.
