iPhone 6S release is expected to happen in September in sync with Apple's "tick-tock" cycle and the iPhone 7 release is allegedly scheduled for 2016.
According to Venture Capital Post, Apple follows Intel's tick-tock cycle in which during the tick-phase, Apple launches a new iPhone with major changes and during the tock-phase, it launches a variant-version of the iPhone with incremental improvements.
Apple is steadfastedly following the tick-tock pattern for years backed up with brilliant sales records. Intel is known to apply this method wherein the tick-phase introduces upgrades the manufacturing technology. On the other hand, the tock-phase upgrades the microarchitecture of the processor. Moreover, this upgrade imparts marked improvements in the performance, functions, energy consumption and feature-density.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 6S features allegedly include the Force Touch technology and will be powered with an A9 chip. It may also possess the Touch ID fingerprint scanner on the display instead of the default home button location. Apple devices are known for their remarkable camera quality. Hence, the primary camera is expected to be upgraded to 21 MP, whereas the front camera will stay at 8MP only.
After the massive success of the Apple Watch, rumors abound that the phone will be manufactured with the same quality of Aluminum that was used to make the Apple watch. Apart from the other iPhone 6S features, Apple may launch a rose gold variant in addition to the gold, silver and grey options.
Apart from iPhone 6S, Applemay release a 4-inches variant for people who like smaller phones which fit in their palms, according to Inquistr. However, Apple has confirmed none from the aforementioned rumors.
