Jeremy Lin's erratic stint with the Los Angeles Lakers isn't stopping team from expressing their interest in hiring the service of the dynamic Asian-American point guard.
Even it's still well over two months to go before the free-agency season, there are at least four teams already mentioned as potential suitors for Lin. The Houston Rockets, the Golden State Warriors and the Philadelphia 76ers all have the motives to make a run at the no.28 best point guard in the NBA, but that won't change the fact there are going to be dark horse contenders.
According to International Business Times writer Greg Price, there are four more teams to look out for as potential landing spots for the 26-year old Lin. The Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets, Charlotte Hornets and the Brooklyn Nets may all need to find a suitable backup at the point guard slot, and he believed that Lin would be perfect for that job.
"Several teams will be in need of point guards this summer, especially those unwilling to pay their own unrestricted free agents. There's the Detroit Pistons who face a difficult situation with Brandon Jennings, the Denver Nuggets who could lose Jameer Nelson as Ty Lawson's backup if he opts-out, the Charlotte Hornets could let Mo Williams walk, and the Brooklyn Nets might watch Deron Williams exercise his opt-out clause," Price stated.
However, Lin stressed that he's going to look for the best case scenario for his career. Many analysts think the former Harvard standout wants to get another opportunity to start again.
From these options, the Nets appear the most appealing situation to Lin. It is because Deron Williams' future with the team is currently hanging in the balance. If the Nets decide to part ways with Williams and his multi-million contract, the Nets will have a significant cap space to spend for some few upgrades.
Lin, with his ability to orchestrate pick-and-roll plays and finish off the fast break, would be a nice acquisition for the Nets and head coach Lionel Hollins, who is known for running most of his plays off the high pick. Moreover, the Nets could offer more than a backup slot. In fact, Lin might have a shot at starting again for the reason that they don't have much depth behind Jarret Jack.
For now, he has all the luxury in the world to think what will be his next move, but the Nets will be certainly up there on his priority list
