"The Vampire Diaries" is set to air its final episode for season this week and fans are already anticipating the departure of Nina Dobrev in the hit The CW series.
Dobrev's upcoming exit from "The Vampire Diaries" could break the hearts of fans. Additionally, the finale episode also promises the bloodiest season-ender, according to KPopStarz.
In the promo clip released by the network, Dobrev, who plays the role of Elena Gilbert, could be seen dying in the arms of Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder).
A voice over could be heard saying, "I'm not a believer. People grow old, then they die. There is nothing more I could ever want than for it to last forever. But I cannot."
Also in the teaser clip are various shots of Elena throughout the past couple of seasons, including her most iconic portrayals of her character.
Meanwhile, cast member Chris Wood recently spoke to She Knows to dish on the upcoming finale episode.
According to Wood, the episode will be extremely "bloody" and it will be the bloodiest set ever. "The finale is the bloodiest that I have seen. It's sort of just an ongoing onslaught," he said.
Also according to Wood, the exit of Dobrev might result in major changes not only in the storyline of "TVD" but also in terms of the fan's reception to the series. However, he said that change is still good no matter what.
"It is going to be big. It is going to shake up the whole series that there is a different energy and this story about brothers, is, sort of, going to emerge. And I think it's healthy to have change," he said.
The finale episode of "TVD" entitled, "I'm Thinking of You All the While" is slated for release on May 14.
