C-C-C-Combo Breaker
Combination locks have never been famous for their "uncrackability" and for less than $100 you can build a gadget that can open any Master Lock in about 30 seconds.
This DIY Master Lock cracker is named "C-C-C-Combo Breaker" and was invented by engineer/hacker Samy Kamkar, who previously invented a USB necklace that can hack any computer in no time.
"C-C-C-Combo Breaker is a motorized, battery powered, 3D printed, Arduino based device that can crack any Master lock combination lock in less than 30 seconds", Kamkar said.
Master Lock is an American company that develops padlocks, combination locks and related security products. The design of Master Lock's combination lock, however, has well-known vulnerabilities.
The combination lock can be opened manually by carefully feeling the mechanism's response while turning under pressure. Thus, the number of possible combinations can be reduced to just eight.
Kamkar exploited this vulnerability and automated the process of cracking open a Master Lock combination lock using off-the-shelf components.

Basically, the gadget uses a stepper motor to spin the dial. A servo motor pulls the lock to see if it's open.
A 3D printed housing to hold all the parts of the gadget together while an Arduino open source software controls everything, said TechCrunch.
