Basketball fans got a nerve tickling treat on Sunday when the Houston Rockets, led by James Harden, became the ninth team in NBA history to win a playoff series after trailing 3-1. The team was pitched against the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 6, when the 25-year-old Olympian dribbled right under the nose of Clippers' J.J. Reddick and perfectly lobbed the ball up to Dwight Howard for a big slam.
Despite being sick just a few days ago with the flu that forced him to take an IV and drink plenty of water just to play, Harden played one of the best games of his life by showcasing his key skills of penetrating the lane, pop jumping from the outside and making neat clean passes to the open man.
Harden made a comeback with a total of 31 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds. With a score of 113-100, the Rockets now seem to be ready to take on the No.1-seeded Golden State Warriors in the finals on Tuesday night in Oakland, California. The Rockets will play the finals for the first time since 1997, New York Times reported.
"Ultimate confidence booster," said the six feet and five inches tall NBA star, ESPN reported. "There are only a handful of teams that have done that; it gives us confidence."
On the other hand, after a big win in Game 5, the Los Angeles Clippers appeared poised and confident to win over the Houston Rockets and was reportedly gearing up for the final game with Golden State Warriors instead. The team, which appeared confident and cool at the start of the game, reportedly struggled hard to tame down Harden and failed miserably.
