"Gossip Girl" alum Leighton Meester and Adam Brody have announced that they are having their first child. The 29 year-old actress was seen on May 16 in Los Angeles showing off her baby bump. The news came a year after the couple secretly wed in February 2014.
Meester was a glowing pregnant woman, according to Pop Sugar. On May 16, she went out for a lunch with her husband and she was obviously making it known to the public that she's pregnant. Her bump was fully displayed in a gray, tight tank topped with a plaid shirt.
A baby has always been a part of Meester's foreseeable future. In an interview with the Nylon magazine in 2014, the actress known for her "Gossip Girl" role Blair Waldorf mentioned her plans of having children.
"Most people I know are starting to get married," Meester said. "It'll be kids next. I like the grown-up stuff. I like having a house. I've got dogs."
The "Monte Carlo" actress also admitted to Idolator that her perspectives and priorities have changed following her marriage to Brody. She said her personal values "have greatly changed, in terms of what is more important now."
"It is my family, friends, and sustaining a peaceful, personal life," Meester continued. "These, I think, are what needs nurturing."
Meester and Brody met in "The Oranges" dramedy in 2011. Since then, they have been seen as inseparable. Both were first linked romantically in February 2013 and reports that they got married in a solemn, secret ceremony surfaced a year after.
Recently, the couple co-starred in "Life Partners" which hit the movie screens in December 2014, several months after its Tribeca Film Festival circulation.
