Chinese health-care databases have expanded their online services by setting up a new evaluation system outside medical institutions to gauge the medical attention patients receive from health establishments, Want China Times reported.
According to the news site, the new system was designed to establish a more transparent medical service evaluation system which targets medical practitioners.
Aside from writing their assessments of the medical services they receive from medical institutions on the websites, patients can also give an extra star for their respective physician's work ethics and attitude toward them.
Famous online sites like Guaohao.com, 91160.com and CareVoice were among the health-care advising and medical service registration platforms that offer the newly established online assessment system.
Sebastian Gaudin, an employee of CareVoice, stated that patients should enjoy wider preference in medical care sites, adding that the introduction of the evaluation system will enable the Chinese people to choose the medical institution that gives the best medical care for their respective concerns as the system will provide the information they need.
On the other hand, Guahao.com and 91160. com, which are based in Hangzhou, the capital and largest city of Zhejiang Province in eastern China, allow clients to set appointments with their chosen clinics or hospitals.
Currently, Guahao.com has received over 160 million visits since its launch in 2010 and covers over 900 hospitals in the country, with over 37 million real-name-registered users; while 91160. com has over 200,000 registered doctors and recorded approximately 10 million registered users.
